Rising Antisemitism in Canada

Shalom,

My name is Michael Greenberg from Toronto.

Although Canexodus is a hub for any Canadian that is looking for a better future for their family, we are especially aware of the dire sense of urgency that is being felt in our community.

Words can not express my profound anger at the raising of the Palestinian flag at both Toronto and Calgary City Hall yesterday.

The virulent anti-Israel animus we are seeing makes me feel entirely unwelcome. Seeing that terrorist flag on City Hall is a painful reminder of the moral bankruptcy of the municipal government.

Many families in our community are now exploring an exit strategy, often focused on a move to the United States via lawful immigration options.

If members of your community are already asking about this, would you be open to sharing this website link (to your Rabbi, family and friends) on lawful US visa options and timing with those who request it?

Our community has unfortunately seen this story before, and those ahead of the curve will not only survive…but flourish as well.

It was better to have left 1930s Germany (Hungary 1956, Cuba 1958, etc…) 2 years early than a day too late.

Canada is clearly in decline with no viable path to reverse the downward trajectory we are on.

In times of economic uncertainty,  we have historically been targeted and made into scapegoats. I will not subject my family to what is now not too distant from the horizon. The barbarians are not at the gates, they have already begun the infiltration.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me or Charles Burstein (my assistant)

Thank you,

Michael Greenberg
